May and June

My bathing beauty. It's so rough being 2!

Isn't he so handsome? I could just sqeeze him all day!
These two crack me up. They were playing in our backyard one evening and here they are taking a break on the patio. They are best buds.
There's that handsome little guy again!
Grant is getting so big so fast. He's a sweet little guy who just wants to be snuggled all day. I am back at work so both kids are back at daycare. The teachers tell me how loving Brielle is towards Grant and that she requests everyday to go visit him in his room and give him a kiss. That is the sweet side of Brielle. She really can be so sweet, but, she is still 2 and definitly wants to be as independent as possible. "I do it" is one of her favorite sayings lately. She talks really well and says something new almost everyday. We were sitting outside the other evening when out of nowhere Brielle tells me "Don't do dat. Timeout". I asked her what I did (while trying not to laugh) and she replied "No talking. No talking, kay". The girl cracks me up.

Family of Four

It has been difficult to find time to sit down and post pictures. Sorry it took so long. Grant is doing great! He is a very calm, content baby (the opposite of his big sister). He is just starting to smile and "talk". Everyone, including Brielle, has made the adjustment as smoothly as can be expected. Brielle is a proud, concerned big sister. She kisses and speaks in a motherly tone to Grant. There is the occasional jealous moment and of course we have entered the "terrible twos" so have experienced some meltdowns from time to time over some pretty minor things. Overall, our family is doing good!

Pee pee on the potty!

Brielle went pee pee on the potty yesterday for Ryan!! This is only the second time at home so it was a very big deal for us. As mentioned in previous posts, she sits on the potty every day but just isn't patient enough to sit long enough to actually go in it. Ryan was home with her yesterday while I was at a bridal shower and out running errands all day. He said she told him she had to go (like always) and sat down for a bit, didn't do anything. He went to get her a new diaper and thought she was following him but when he came back into the bathroom she had peed!!

Finally, Pictures!!!

These pictures are from the last 4 months or so. They are kinda in order but not completely. Enjoy!!
This was back in October at the Pumpkin Patch playing in the corn box.

This was the first and only time that Brielle actually went potty at home- 4 months ago! Since then, she sits on the potty daily and claims that she went potty each time even though it is completely empty. She has had more luck at daycare and has gone 6 or 7 times there.

Our little honeypot on Halloween!

This started as fingerpainting on paper and ended up fingerpainting on Brielle and Dadda.

This was our attempt at getting pictures of the 3 girls together and this is pretty much the way the day went. Basically, impossible to get them to all look the same direction at the same time. And don't you just love Lizzy's not so lady like way of sitting? Nina was a bit dramatic about something at this point.
As you can tell the problem with getting everyone to look in the same direction at the same time runs in the family. And Nina is about as photogenic as her daddy.

I just think this is too cute with both of them in their snow boots.

Stories

A few quick stories that I wanted to share before I forgot them:

On superbowl Sunday we were all sitting around the kitchen table at Ryan's parent's house. Brielle was on my lap, facing me, when she started rubbing my belly and said "mommy big".

We went to a chinese buffet for dinner the other night and before one of us could stop her, Brielle grabbed the sugar shaker and attempted to shake it all over Ryan's food. She missed and just made a big mess all over Ryan and the table. Then she looks at me and says "Dadda messy" as if Ryan was the one who made the mess.

The three of us were hanging out on our bed at home and Brielle was asking us where Buck was. I told her to call him and I showed her how by cupping my mouth with my hands and calling "Buck", she imitated me exactly. Then I said "say it louder", and Brielle still with her hands cupped around her mouth calls "say it louder".

The three of us were in Brielle's room last night reading her favorite Elmo book when she started counting to ten while pointing at different things in the book. She says every number in order but leaves out 6 every time. Then she tells herself "good job Brielle!" She did this over and over. Ryan and I were trying so hard not to laugh out loud that I had tears rolling down my cheeks.

She insists on coming into the bathroom with me, then claps and says "yeah Mommy!!" when I'm done. Shouldn't this be the other way around?
